“But the Fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
After having been an actress all my life (just ask my brothers), God gave me a delightful assignment over 15 years ago. I began to create characters who taught lessons and told stories from the Bible.
One day, as I was garage saling with my friend, Jo, (who is from Haiti) I realized that introducing a new teacher with such an accent would be a grand addition to my repertoire. Already on board were Ellendean Love from Fox Holler, Kentucky, Penelope Hope from London, England, Taffy Cook from Fargo, North Dakota and Monica Street from Long Island, New York.
Tonight, I will stand on a stage and introduce the newest member of my team. In my best Haitian accent I will declare, “Allo, my name ese Kehty fw-amm Heh-ti. I come to you to celo-bwate De Fwoot of de Spe-wit. Dese ah de seeds God plants ene us when we geve ou-wa hots and mi-ends to Cwyst Jesus.” Translation: “Hello, my name is Katy from Haiti. I come to you to celebrate The Fruit of the Spirit. These are the seeds God plants in us when we give our hearts and minds to Christ Jesus.”
God is so generous with the gifts that He lavishes on us! The Fruit of the Spirit is an extraordinary list of qualities that we receive when we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. His ultimate sacrifice on the cross and His glorious resurrection made a way for us to be with our Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the magnificence of Heaven, our eternal home. Anyway you spell it that’s GOOD NEWS!
I encourage you to get out your Bibles. Take some time to read, study and memorize The Fruit of the Spirit, and be thankful, for good fruit is available with God at every turn.
I would love to see Katy from Haiti!

Sounds awesome, how are you able to keep up a dialect for a performance. Love all the color.
